Fall 2017 Newsletter & Updates
We had a great Fall Director's Meeting!
Thank you to all of those in attendance and to Columbus State Community College for hosting again. This year's attendees felt that the location of the meeting was good and we will reach out to CSCC again for next year.
We received a lot of great information and were able to begin planning a student conference for 2019... See below!
If you are looking for the sample Systematic Plan of Evaluation that Cathy Learn presented, please go to Meetings for more information.
As follow-up, one of our attendees requested more information about recent communication from NCSBN regarding "Re-entry of Previous Passing NCLEX Candidates". Clarification was obtained by Lauralee Krabill, Legislative Committee Chair as she reached out to Betsy Houchen at the OBN. Here is her response:
While re-entry is not a common practice, it may be a requirement for re-licensure of a nurse who has allowed their license to lapse and/or has not practiced for some time, or is transferring a license between jurisdictions or countries (ex: to Canada, who now uses the NCLEX nearly nationwide, but did not previously). The requirements surrounding re-entry are different for each board or regulatory body, but enough of them have the requirement that NCSBN developed the process and added a short blurb to the Member Board Manual (ch. 2 pg. 3) about it.
Spring Conference 2018 Registration is now open!
Please go to Spring Conference for lots of information including:
-Registration & Room Reservations
-Recognition: Scholarships and Excellence in PN Education Award
If you know of any exhibitors/vendors who might be interested in being a part of our conference, please let us know!
We hope to see you there!!!!
Planning for a 2019 Student Conference is beginning!
During the Fall Director's Meeting, Lauralee Krabill and Lisa Brackney presented to the group the intent of providing a Student Conference in 2019 as a result of suggestions from the 2017 Spring Conference. Many ideas were shared and a committee is being formed.
If you would like to be part of the Student Conference Planning Committee, please contact Lauralee Krabill at firstname.lastname@example.org or Lisa Brackney at email@example.com.
We are very excited for this opportunity!
